Welcome to Sticks & Stones- Healing Jewelry and Art!!!
My name is Megan and I am wife to a wonderful man and mommy to a spectacular (almost) 3 year old boy!! I have always had a strong desire to create..whether it be arts & crafts, writing, painting, or gardening. However, being a busy mom leaves little time to actually indulge in these mind expanding and soul touching activities...because to me they really are therapeutic and necessary!! SO, here I am, getting in touch with that part of myself again and it feels so good!
Recently, I took up jewelry making, and I really love it!!! I learn new things everyday and can't wait to learn even more about the process. Re-cycling, Re-using and up-cycling materials has a very special place in my heart, so I'm incorporating some of that into the jewelry itself. I scour thrift stores and second hand stores in search of unique pendants, special beads, and /or anything that catches my eye... then I give it a new life. They might turn into a bracelet, necklace or they might have a place in a really special future art project. So the jewelry ends up being a unique blend of old and new. That is one type of jewelry that I make.
I have also always had a fascination with stones, glass, and rocks (and other earthly materials)...especially if they have healing properties. I do have several pieces that contain healing stones and hopefully there will be much more in the future. I'm kind of being pulled in that direction, because I know that there are a lot of people in the world in need of healing. Being able to help others in my own way would be a dream come true. So that is another type of jewelry that you will find here.
